Nurse Practitioner Notice

A new Massachusetts mandate, effective January 1, 2009, requires insured health plans that include the designation of a primary care provider to allow their members to choose a contracted credentialed nurse practitioner as their primary care provider. The law also requires that all contracted and credentialed nurse practitioners be included in directories of participating providers. Tufts Health Plan will be putting measures in place to implement this in accordance with regulatory requirements (regulations are expected by year end).
